Our weekend trip!

I got to go to Rhode Island and see my friend Val and her husband this weekend. It was a short 24 hour trip but it was lots of fun! Jon had to go to Connecticut for work and so since we were only an hour and 20 minutes away we decided to go visit! Cory got to see them for the first time and he got to see the ocean! :-) very exciting for his Mommy! I love the beach! When we arrived there we went for dinner at Friendly's where the waitress forgot to order the appetizer first so we got it at the end of the meal and Val made her mad..... After that we went back to Val and Brandon's house and played some games. We played the "Friends Scene it" game and then the newlywed game, which Jon and I only got 1 out of 6 right.....not so good! But they were tough questions!!! Val and Brandon actually did quite well......hmmmm....I think they cheated! Then I crushed Val in Boggle! She said she'd rather play with Brandon because she always beats him :-) She's just a sore loser! haha SO we finally decide to go to bed and they start looking for the air mattresses for us and they can't find the pump to blow them up. They look and look and look but can't find them. So I sleep on the couch with Cory (Kayden stayed with my parents ) and Val constructs a floor bed for Jon consisting of about 20 blankets and an egg shell mattress thingy- maybe not so many blankets though. It was quite funny though. Jon said it was actually pretty comfortable. Now I have issues with sleeping in the pitch black when I have my children with me. So I told Val I needed a light of some sort. So she tries this one lamp...I thought it would work but didn't- too bright....then we try the bathroom light...again too bright...Brandon tries a red light....too freaky! and finally Val puts the nightlight from the kitchen in the living room...just perfect :-) It was really funny though! It took a lot longer to figure it out than you'd expect by reading this! Also I hate ticking clocks while I'm trying to sleep so Val had to hide her clock!!!! I still heard the one in the kitchen though! Oh well. I still slept well! It was a really fun trip! Too bad it couldn't have been longer! I'm hoping to take the boys back in the summer and go to the beach when it's nice and warm outside! The beach was really cold and rainy! When I was told by Val to write this, I think we both thought it would be pretty funny, but I don't think it is as funny to read as it was at that moment. I guess I'm just not a good writer! Sorry if you were bored!!!

On another note, Cory had his 6 month check-up yesterday. He weighs 17lbs 3oz and is 26 inches long! 50th percentile for weight and 25th for height. He also got 3 shots :-( He didn't like them much!! Obviously! Kayden, at the same age,was 17lbs 12oz and 26.5 inches long. I'm really hoping he continues to grow like his brother and is only 20lbs when he's one because I bought all 12 month clothes for winter already!! and he better fit into them, or I may just cry! He also decided that it was time to roll over from his back to his belly yesterday while at the doctor's. He has been so close for so long, he just couldn't get that arm out of the way! Well now he's rolling over all over the place!!! :-) next comes sitting steadily and crawling! yay! He's fussy though, so I better go! Ciao!
