pregnancy ramblings..

Hello. So I'm listening to my two year old cry upstairs right now because he does not want to go to bed. He came out of his room just moments ago and I went upstairs to get him back to bed and discovered he had no clothes on. He has just recently discovered that he can take his clothes off-glad he didn't attempt the diaper! He is going through pacifier-withdrawal and just plain not wanting to go to sleep. Hopefully he tires himself out while crying and gives up and goes to sleep. We shall see.
That same little crying two year old now knows 23 out of 26 letters!! I'm so proud of him. He is just so obsessed with letters! It's fun when they learn important stuff just because they think it's fun. He doesn't know D, S, and V. Sometimes he struggles with T and X. Sometimes he knows them and sometimes he doesn't. We have a book now that we read before bed that says like, "A is for apple." and stuff like that. I have him say the letter on each page and then I say the rest. It's like he's helping me read the story. It's fun. I never thought my two year old would learn all of his letters. At this pace, he'll know them all by the time he's 3. And hopefully all their sounds. He knows most of them as well- didn't count the exact number. And he initiated it all! Hopefully he'll enjoy school this much in two years.
So turns out that the baby has some bright spots on his heart and brain and so I have to get it checked out when I go for my other ultrasound to get the spinal measurements that the baby didn't cooperate for last time. But instead of just going back to my doctor's office, I have to get it done at a hospital with better equipment, I guess. This happened with Kayden too. He only had one on his heart though. And all turned out fine. I just didn't want to have to worry again like I did with Kayden. I'm expecting them to still be there when they do the next ultrasound just like Kayden's was still there. It'd be really nice if they weren't though. Please pray that everything turns out fine and our little one's ok. I go on July 6th.
My back's starting to hurt from sitting here so I guess that's all for now! Bye! :-)

  1. Hey Ash,

Will be praying about the ultrasound. We also had them see something withe one of the kids on an ultrasound which turned out to be nothing, but EVEN IF IT IS SOMETHING, God will give you the grace that you need when the time comes! ;) Not to make light of it...but just a reminder to trust Him wholely.

Also, for the S thing...S looks like a snake and a snake says, "ssssssssss." Maybe that will help secure that one in Kayden's mind. :D

Congrats on the great teaching! Now he just has to recognize blending them and he'll be reading. Show him "a" and "t" together and see if he can put the sounds together. If he doesn't get it yet, just try again in a couple of weeks. It took Katherine a little while to get the hang of it, but I've known other kids who get it right away. Once he gets that you can put all kinds of letters in front of at and he'll do well with reading those words.

Isn't it fun seeing them develop! Thanks for sharing ;)

  2. Yay, Kayden! Keep up the great work little man! Your mom and dad are super proud! (Your aunt and uncle too!) Now for the going to bed part, so you can give your hard working parents a break!

And of course, I hope you know we are praying for the ultrasound. Hang in there, Ashley! I know it's hard:(
