If I weren't always so tired, I would love to get up this early everyday before anyone else woke up. It's so peaceful. The hum of the heat, the annoying sound of the swing that Cory's in. haha The hubby and Kayden upstairs sound asleep. We'll see how long Kayden stays that way. Brooklyn's outside-we'll see how long it takes her to bark and wake Kayden up!
So I thought since I had a few minutes to myself I would write some. So here is another installment of funny Kayden moments: :-)
Kayden continues to be obsessed with numbers and letters. My boy would be completely satisfied if all he had to play with were foam numbers and letters. We have recently been working real hard on counting (the right way). He does real well if he takes his time and focuses. He can count all ten fingers. But if he rushes, he counts all over the place. It's funny, because he obviously CAn do it....just doesn't always want to. He counts everything though. It's pretty funny. And when we're in grocery stores, he'll see the numbers for the aisles and he'll get mad at me because he wanted to go in aisle 7 and I went in aisle 10. "no 10, no 10, 7!" haha Or when we went for gas yesterday he kept saying 10 10 and I was like what? We were at the 10th pump! Numbers and letters just stick out to him! He sees them everywhere! I mean, they are everywhere, but who really pays attention to that?
My little 3 1/2 yr old also decided that he can ADD! He gave my mom 2 books, said "1 more, 3?" and my mom said he added! That he did! So when we were telling Grandma Candy this week, she asked him if he had 4 and got 1 more how many would he have and he said 5! (I think those were the numbers she used). It sounds so simple to us, but to them it's not. I'm just amazed every day by how smart he is and how interested he is in it. He doesn't know it's "learning" yet. I'm hoping he's always this interested in learning.
He can also write some letters and numbers already: like E, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 (which he likes to call one-teen ;-) ) F, H, O, Q, T, 1, and 0. And most of this, he drew without me ever showing him how to draw them. He would take his little foam letters and copy them! I was amazed! It's so fun having kids and watching them learn. It's fun watching Cory do all the "firsts" again. I don't remember them all with Kayden. It's so exciting when they do new things.
Kayden has also been talking better-clearer and using more words. I don't think it's because of the speech therapy classes because he's only been to 2 and he hasn't cooperated too much with what the teacher wants him to do. I think it's just naturally happening for him now. He tells us he doesn't remember things all the time now. Sometimes I think he's just trying to be funny, because he obviously does remember. He also finally started using pronouns like him, yourself, myself. (not sure if they're all pronouns...probably not!)
The other day on the car road home he was upset for leaving Grandma Candy and so to calm him down I reminded him of his "blue juice" at home and he told me that the "blue juice" would make him feel better. haha He also got sick the other day as I mentioned in my last post (he is completely fine now-just what he ate) and I kept asking him all Sunday if his tummy hurt and he would answer "tummy all gone now". :-) so cute. His way of saying it didn't hurt anymore.
He's finally getting to the age where he really misses Jon when we go to my parents house. He kept asking for him the whole time we were there. One night, towards the end of our stay, we heard Kayden moving around upstairs when he should've been sleeping, so my brother Brett went up to check on him and he was surrounded by his stuffed animals in the corner of the room crying for Daddy. Aw. Poor little guy! He really missed his Daddy! The morning that we came home, it was like 6:15am and I went to wake Kayden up and he wasn't budging, so I asked him if he was ready to go see Daddy and he shot right up and got out of bed, went downstairs and waved to my mom and said "bye!"
Kayden is also really upset about the disappearance of our "silver car" (the Neon). He doesn't want the new car anymore, he wants "his" car! He'll eventually forget about it, I hope!
Well time to get the boys up! Meeting Grandma Candy and Great-Grandma for breakfast!

Thats great that Kayden is doing so well with his numbers and letters and speech! The adding is impressive too, he's pretty young to get that concept! I guess he'll be all ready for Kindergarten soon! :-)
